Southwest plans to add or restore 11 routes for summer 2027, including seven from Austin, as it prepares its largest-ever summer schedule. Nine routes are new to the airline; the other two restore previously discontinued service. The announced seasonal flying covers June 3 through Aug. 2, 2027.

Austin will gain weekend flights to Liberia, Costa Rica; Nassau, Bahamas; Punta Cana, Dominican Republic; and Savannah/Hilton Head, plus Saturday flights to Bozeman. Southwest will also resume daily seasonal Austin–Portland service, last flown in 2018, and Saturday Austin–Sarasota service, last operated in 2023.

Nashville gets new links to Boise, Nassau and Providenciales in Turks and Caicos. San Diego adds seasonal Sunday service to Oklahoma City. Separately, Southwest will bring back its 2026 seasonal routes from Nashville to Bozeman and from San Diego to Bozeman, Pittsburgh and Columbus, Ohio.

The expansion would take Austin to roughly 143 Southwest departures on peak days and Nashville to as many as 220 daily flights. For US frequent flyers, the clearest gains are additional nonstop choices at those airports and San Diego. Check operating days before building an itinerary: several additions fly only on weekends, and the announcement does not specify frequencies for the three new Nashville routes.
