Royal Air Maroc plans free Starlink Wi-Fi, with installations starting in early 2027

Royal Air Maroc plans to equip 41 aircraft with Starlink and offer free access to Safar Flyer members. Aircraft assignments and a rollout completion date remain unconfirmed.

Royal Air Maroc plans to add Starlink Wi-Fi to 41 aircraft, with installations expected to begin in early 2027. The Casablanca-based oneworld airline currently has no onboard Wi-Fi and is the first African carrier to announce plans to install Starlink.

Free access will be available to members of its Safar Flyer loyalty programme. The airline has not clarified whether passengers must attach a Safar Flyer number to their booking or simply hold membership to connect.

That distinction matters for Canadian and US travellers, particularly frequent flyers using another loyalty programme. Do not assume that Aeroplan, WestJet Rewards, MileagePlus, AAdvantage or SkyMiles membership meets the announced access requirement: the offer specifically names Safar Flyer. Travellers should watch for login instructions before changing the frequent flyer number on a reservation.

The airline has not identified which aircraft will receive the equipment or when installation across the 41 planes will finish. With a fleet of around 70 aircraft, the announcement does not cover every plane. Anyone counting on connectivity should check for aircraft-specific confirmation closer to departure rather than treating early 2027 as a fleetwide launch.
