KLM plans to introduce free high-speed Starlink Wi-Fi on intercontinental flights from mid-2027, with the entire intercontinental fleet covered by mid-2028. CEO Marjan Rintel announced the rollout at the unveiling of the airline’s latest Delft Blue miniature house.

The service will cover every cabin, making this relevant to Canadian and US travellers flying KLM long-haul, not just business-class passengers. For now, Flying Blue members receive free messaging on intercontinental flights and free full-flight internet on European services. Travellers should watch for aircraft-specific availability as the installation progresses rather than assume every departure will offer Starlink at launch.

KLM also introduced its 107th Delft house, modelled on Wijnhoeve De Kleine Schorre in Zeeland. The miniature depicts a historic barn built in 1735; the wine estate has supplied KLM for 20 years. Long-haul business-class passengers should begin seeing the new collectible on flights immediately, though a particular house is not guaranteed.

For US travellers considering a mileage booking, the supplied award examples put KLM business class between the US and Europe from 60,000 Flying Blue miles each way, occasionally falling to 45,000 through Promo Rewards, plus US$300–US$600 in taxes and fees each way. Those examples do not establish Canadian award pricing. Canadian travellers should check their own departure and the total in CAD before committing points; the announcement does not change redemption terms for Aeroplan, WestJet Rewards or US airline loyalty programmes.
