How to set SkyAdd fare alerts by cabin, discount and destination

SkyAdd members can now filter cabins and destinations, set a higher seat-sale discount threshold or pause alerts. Here’s how to adjust your settings and avoid unwanted notifications.

Adapted for this edition

SkyAdd’s new dashboard controls let members narrow their fare alerts or pause them while travelling. You’ll need access to the email address linked to your membership; no password is required.

1. Open your dashboard. Tap Manage membership or Alert preferences at the bottom of a SkyAdd email. Alternatively, select Manage in the SkyAdd.com footer, enter your membership email and open the private access link sent to your inbox.

2. Set your departure airports. Choose the airports you can realistically fly from, such as New York (JFK), Toronto Pearson (YYZ), Vancouver (YVR) or Montreal (YUL). “All airports” covers every hub in your selected edition, not just your home airport.

3. Narrow the alerts. Under “Fine-tune alerts,” select Economy, Premium or Business and choose destination regions, or keep Worldwide. To receive only Business and First Class fare alerts, deselect Economy and Premium.

4. Set your seat-sale threshold. The default minimum discount is 40%; you can raise it to 50%, 60% or 70% for fewer sale notifications. You can also turn Seat Sales off entirely. Error Fares remain enabled for your selected airports and bypass the seat-sale discount threshold.

5. Choose when to hear from us. Enable phone push notifications if you want mistake-fare alerts on your device. For a break, Vacation Mode pauses email and phone alerts for one week, two weeks or one month. Your membership stays active, and alerts resume automatically after the selected period—not based on your actual return date.

6. Tap the black Save changes button. Updated fare preferences apply from the next scan.

The practical benefit is less time sorting irrelevant alerts. Higher discount thresholds reduce seat-sale notifications, but they also exclude smaller discounts that might still suit your trip.
