Amex’s 30% Avios Bonus: Act Only With an Award Ready to Book

A 30% transfer bonus can make Avios awards substantially cheaper, but it is not a reason to empty a flexible points account. The offer described for American Express Membership Rewards transfers to British Airways, Aer Lingus and Iberia ends Sept. 27. The strongest case for acting is a seat you can find and book now—not a speculative balance for later.

At the promotional rate, 1,000 Membership Rewards points become 1,300 Avios.
